Fitness

This is an active trip, requiring a moderate level of physical fitness.

As a general rule, the more preparation you can do for this type of physical trip, the more you will enjoy it. Prepare for the trip by doing aerobic type exercises before travelling – brist walking or swimming are some options, although cycling is best. If possible take some extended day rides prior ro travelling, or spend time on exercise bikes at the gym. The more your muscles are prepared for the riding on this trip, the more you will be able to enjoy the wonderful countryside and people of Vietnam. Note that an enthusiasm for bike riding and adventure is essential!

Passport

The Australian Government encourages all Australians travelling overseas to register with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade before travel, so you can be contacted in the unlikley event of an emergency.

It is recomended that you organise your passport well in advance, valid for at least 6 months from departure and for the duration of your trip.

Foreign Currency

Vietnam accepts USD and VND. 

You can arrange your foreign currency before you depart, at the airport, or there is an abundance of ATMs in Vietnam where you will be able to withdraw cash. There are also ANZ and Commonwealth branches in Vietnam.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that you take out adequate travel insurance for your time overseas.

Visa

Shortly after you book your tour with The Great Vietnam Bike Ride, we will contact you for further information, so we can arrange your visa for Vietnam. We try to take care of everything for you.

Medications

If you are taking medications, make sure that you have enough for your trip, and carry all medications in your carry-on baggage.
